This story of the healing of the blind men in Jericho is told by all three synoptic evangelists. Matthew in addition used this healing as one of the healings in chapter 9, 9,27-31.
Look at how Matthew has recast the story as told by Mark, Mk 10,46-52. Consider how has Matthew reduced the drama of Mark's account.
What do the blind men call Jesus? See 12,23. Look ahead to 21,9.
Note how Matthew has changed verse 33 (see Is 29,18 and 35,5) and the concluding verse 34. Consider how Matthew thereby give a rather different message to Mark.
What are the consequences of the healing for the two men?
And now look at my response.
We now continue the story as Jesus finally arrives in Jerusalem in chapter 21.
